Post-rock is an extremely confusing music genre term, extended from rock, which earned a codified usage from Simon Reynolds? in the early to mid-1990s and a related, albeit distinct, usage which evolved from the late 1990s into the 2000s. At its heart, Reynolds describes post-rock as using "rock instruments for non-rock purposes". But what does that mean?
