Amerindie

Amerindie, also known as the American indie underground was a phenomenon predominant in the 1980s ? across the US ?, largely manifesting as a DIY ? movement out of a post-punk and post-hardcore milieu, based around independent record labels, a network of zines ? and college radio ? stations, and regional and national touring circuits. By its nature, the movement was stylistically diverse, with early artists drawing on punk rock and hardcore punk ?, noise rock, New Wave ?, power pop and jangle pop, psychedelia ?, garage rock, classic rock ?, and everywhere in between, coalescing into the styles known today as alternative rock ? and indie rock.
