Canada
Canada is a fairly well-known state? in Northern America, neighboured by the United States? to the south and bordered by the Arctic? to the north. The land currently controlled by the Canadian state was initally colonised by British? and French? settlers in the 16th century, despite the existing indigenous population, and the British seized French Canada in 1763. Canada became confederated into a distinct federation in 1867, and severed its final ties with the United Kingdom? in 1982? (although the ceremonial monarch of Canada is the same).
